The Donetsk flag is the official flag of the Donetsk People's Republic, a self-proclaimed republic in eastern Ukraine. It features a variation of the Russian tricolor, with two horizontal stripes of blue and yellow, and a vertical stripe of red on the left side. In the center of the red stripe is a white circle with a stylized "D" in the middle, representing Donetsk. The flag was first adopted in 2014, shortly after the Donetsk People's Republic declared independence from Ukraine, and it continues to be used as a symbol of the region's separatist movement. However, the flag is not recognized by most international organizations and is considered illegal by the Ukrainian government.
